Organic grass-fed ground beef is a staple in protein in our freezer because there's so much that can be done with it! We love it made into patties for burgers or as steaks, meat sauce for pasta, meatballs, and our current favorite is as a topping for rice bowls!
1) Heat 2 tbsp of avocado oil in a frying pan. Lightly sauté 1 minced garlic clove until fragrant.
2) Add in 1lb of ground beef, 1/2 tsp of Chinese Five Spice, 2 tbsp of raw sugar or stevia - stir and cook for 30 seconds.
3) Add 3 tbsp of hoisin sauce, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, and 1/2 cup of cooking rice wine, stir together, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the liquid is reduced.
4) Top a bowl of rice with a handful of salad greens (like spring mix, arugula, chopped lettuce, etc.), kimchi, the cooked meat, half of a boiled egg, and a drizzle of sesame oil.
Mix together and enjoy!
